STATION NUMBER 9

i took the kids to the firehouse today. i unfortunately did not get very good pictures because the sun was beaming in from both sides and bouncing off all the shiny stuff in there. neylan was acting shy the whole time and hiding so i did not get many of her. the firemen were real nice. i called a different station the other day and asked if we could come out and they said yes, but when i got there they were gone. they were not aloud to put on the hat because kids were getting neck strain from it. they got to hold it and look at it. i told jason this and he said the firemen were probably getting head lice from the kids. :)
gavin could barely lift the jacket.

i think gavin was real interested in the stuff the firemen have to do to get ready for the fires. he asked alot of questions.

logan loved sitting in the truck. the fireman asked do you want me to help you get in. logan said"no i do myself" i wish he would have let them do the siren but they have new rules about that too.

neylan liked this but i think that she was nervous because it was high. she kept looking at the fireman to see if he was still there. one of the fireman scared her by saying hi to her.

he is showing them the jaws of life. they keep it in the front of the truck.

he explained the difference between the fire truck and the fire engine then he quized them at the end. ( the fire truck has the big ladder on top)

he showed them the map of the area they cover. showed them where we were at on the grid. notice neylan's hands on the hips?

logan really had a great time. i do recommend this to everyone with kids. it is free and it gets the kids out of the house. fun fun

the fire chief went over all the safety rules for home. he told them to make sure they go home and check the smoke detectors and make an escape plan.

Greg enjoyed looking at these pics comparing this firehouse to his! It looks like they had a great time, Aaron always likes to visit Greg at work and check out the trucks. I love the pic of Neylan with her hands on her hips! She is a doll! Love and miss you!
